On the eve of the New Year, in the village of Vylyb, Kortkeros district, a new robotic free-range farm for 140 heads of cattle was opened in the Istok SEC.
Denis Sharonov, Minister of Agriculture and Consumer Market of the Republic of Komi, took part in the solemn event.
“We hope that this project will be the first in a series of the same scale. Modern new farms are needed to improve the quality of products, create favorable working conditions for staff and improve the quality of animal welfare. The cowshed was built according to a standard design, which we will adopt and replicate for implementation throughout the republic. To this end, the Ministry of Agriculture, with the support of the Head of the Komi Republic, Vladimir Uyba, will seek additional funding for the industry,” Denis Sharonov said.
In 2020, SEC Istok became the winner as a result of a competitive selection of investment projects in the agricultural sector. The total cost of the project amounted to 69.3 million rubles. The Ministry of Agriculture of the Komi Republic subsidized 47.7 million rubles for the cost of construction and purchase of equipment. Upgrading the production base of the economy has made it possible to modernize 9 jobs.
According to the chairman of the cooperative, Nadezhda Makarova, building a new farm was her old dream. Thanks to state support for the year, it became a reality. Now the enterprise is faced with the task of increasing efficiency and increasing the volume of milk production, including extra class. For this, next year, the purchase of 35 heads of Aishir heifers is planned.
SPK "Istok" is a major producer of milk, meat and is one of the ten best agricultural enterprises of the republic in terms of milk yield per feed cow. The milk productivity of cows on the farm in 2020 amounted to 6636 kg, which is 15% higher than the average indicator of agricultural organizations in the region and 36% higher than the national average.
