According to the operational data of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kuzbass, as of October 13, less than 20% of the sown area remains to be harvested in the region.
“Due to difficult weather conditions and heavy rainfall in some fields, seedlings fell to the ground. At the moment, farmers are inspecting the fields and saving the crop where possible. However, this will not affect the overall food security of the region: due to the increase in sown areas, as well as work to increase yields, the volume of harvested crops this year is quite high, ”comments Andrey Aritkulov, Minister of Agriculture and Processing Industry of the region.
As of October 13, Kuzbass farmers harvested more than 1 million 400 thousand tons of grain and leguminous crops with an average yield of 27.7 centners per hectare, including 728 thousand tons of wheat. In addition, the harvest of potatoes is 154 thousand tons, vegetables - 18.5 thousand tons. Almost 145,000 tons of rapeseed have been threshed.
The largest contribution to the Kuzbass loaf was made by the agrarians of the Promyshlennovsky (198.8 thousand tons), Leninsk-Kuznetsky (147 thousand tons), Topkinsky (147 thousand tons) and Prokopevsky (128 thousand tons) municipal districts. In general, the harvesting campaign is nearing completion in Yashkinsky (94.9% of the area harvested), Yaya (92.1%) and Krapivinsky (91.5%) municipal districts.
