
During a weekly videoconference, Minister of Agriculture of the Kaluga Region Leonid Gromov summed up the work of the region's crop growers last year.
The HEAD of the department noted that difficult weather conditions made significant changes to the plans of farmers. However, the use of modern agricultural technologies has allowed many enterprises to maintain and increase productivity.
Meshchovsky crop growers became the leaders in grain production, having threshed 39 thousand tons of grain. In the Peremyshl region, 28.5 thousand tons were collected, in Sukhinichsky and Zhukovsky - 13.3 thousand tons each. Leonid Gromov especially noted the success of Kaluzhskaya Niva LLC. The highest gross grain harvest was obtained here - 30.6 thousand tons with a yield of almost 37.2 centners per hectare.
The best potato growers last year were the specialists of the Avrora (Babyninsky district), Agrotun (Kozelsky district) and Slavyansky Potato (Duminichsky district) enterprises.
The highest results in the production of open ground vegetables were obtained in the farms of Singh farms (Meshchovsky district) and Kozelskie Vegetables LLC, as well as by farmer Sergei Kuznetsov from the Przemysl district.
Leonid Gromov especially emphasized the achievements in the production of one of the most profitable agricultural crops - rapeseed. Winter areas under it were increased by 4 thousand hectares compared to last year and amounted to 8.4 thousand hectares.
A promising direction is horticulture. The area of young orchards and nurseries increased by 303 hectares and reached 2.5 thousand hectares. The production of fruit and berry products amounted to 2.2 thousand tons. In the Przemysl region, 36.6 hectares have been laid for the cultivation of blueberries. According to preliminary forecasts, the harvest of these berries will go on store shelves in the coming years.
