This became known during the meeting of the Agrarian Council of the region, which was held under the leadership of the Governor of the Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov.
This year it is planned to allocate 606 million rubles from the federal and regional budgets for land reclamation. At the expense of the federal budget, nine pumping stations are being reconstructed, flood control measures are being implemented at another nine stations and 178 km of canals and dams.
By the end of the year, the state budgetary institution of the Kaliningrad region Kaliningradmelioratsia will repair 120 km of canals, overhaul and re-equip three pumping stations for a total of 113 million rubles.
“As a result, all land reclamation work carried out in 2021 will ensure the drainage of land on an area of 40,000 hectares,” said Minister of Agriculture Natalia Shevtsova.
The Minister informed about the ongoing work with federal authorities to address a number of problematic issues. Among them are an increase in funding for flood control and maintenance work at federal facilities, the inclusion of additional pumping stations and water protection dams in the list of reconstruction objects, cadastral registration of meliorative canals, fishery reclamation and cleaning of canals within the boundaries of the State Forest Fund.
Natalya Shevtsova also reported on new measures of federal support for the involvement in the circulation of agricultural land and the development of the reclamation complex. Within the framework of the relevant program, from 2022, subsidies will be provided for carrying out cultural and technical work, irrigation and drainage works for the construction and reconstruction of reclamation systems, and liming of acidic soils on arable land.
Anton Alikhanov stressed that the restoration of the region's reclamation complex is under special control.
“The events within the framework of the federal roadmap, as well as the preliminary results of the activities of the Kaliningradmelioratsia institution we created, gave good results. I consider it timely and expedient to introduce digital platforms into the system of preventive management of land reclamation systems,” said Anton Alikhanov.
Recall that the Kaliningrad region is located in the zone of excessive moisture, it accounts for 23% of all drained and 70% of polder lands in RUSSIA, not only the development of agricultural production, but also safe life depends on the functioning and technical condition of the reclamation system.
