
In Kabardino-Balkaria this year, five livestock farms received the status of breeding reproducers in several areas: beef cattle breeding, horse breeding, sheep breeding, fish farming and poultry farming. All enterprises are included in the state breeding register of the Russian Federation for livestock breeding.
Assigning the status of a breeding reproducer indicates a high level of selection and breeding work on the farm, it is also a guarantee of high quality characteristics of livestock. It is necessary to confirm the status of a breeding farm every five years.
Today in Kabardino-Balkaria, 23 enterprises with the status of a breeding farm carry out production activities.
The breeding stock of farm animals in 2020 amounted to 20.4 thousand conditional heads, by the end of 2021 it is planned to increase the indicated livestock to 20.5 thousand conditional heads.
“The development of livestock breeding, improvement of the breed composition of MEAT and dairy herds using a scientific approach is indicated as one of the priorities of the industry in the Address of the HEAD of Kabardino-Balkaria Kazbek Kokov to the Parliament of the Republic. The state support provided for livestock breeding is a great incentive for the development of this area. This year, 152.24 million rubles of budget funds have been allocated for the development of livestock breeding in Kabardino-Balkaria, including 141.58 million rubles from the federal budget and 10.66 million rubles from the republican budget. The main task of breeding work is to increase productivity, improve hereditary qualities and rational use of breeding animals.
