The Federal Center for Animal HEALTH, subordinated to ROSSELKHOZNADZOR, has published a teaching aid on African swine fever.

The purpose of the training manual is to provide veterinarians, pig farm managers, farmers, hunters, forestry workers, municipal and government employees with information about African swine fever (ASF): history, etiology, characteristics of the pathogen, pathogenesis, clinical and pathoanatomical picture, measures fight the disease. The manual includes general information on the global distribution area of ​​ASF, transmission routes, laboratory methods for detecting the virus/antigen/genome or specific antibodies necessary for timely high-quality diagnosis, differential diagnosis, as well as response methods aimed at preventing and eliminating the disease. Recommendations on the action of specialists and managers of various levels in the context of an ASF outbreak are included.

The teaching aid is intended to improve the skills of veterinary and biological specialists, the materials can be used as a source of information for the public about this socially significant swine disease.
