On Friday, April 8, the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan Sharip Sharipov visited the Kizlyar region, who got acquainted with the progress of sowing vegetables and the implementation of land reclamation measures.
Accompanied by the HEAD of the Department of Agriculture of the Kizlyar region, Raisat Alilova and the head of the Department of Agriculture of the Gumbetovsky district, Magomed Abdulkhalimov, he visited the Suleymanov M.M. peasant farm located in the village of Bolshoe Bredikhino.
According to the head of the peasant farm Magad Suleymanov, the farm uses about 100 hectares of arable land, some of which is leased. Thanks to participation in the state program for the development of the reclamation complex, the farmer managed to carry out cultural and technical work, by clearing trees and shrubs to bring abandoned arable land in order and involve them in economic circulation.
This year, he intends to place vegetables on 35 hectares, which is more than in the previous year. Covering material is used to accelerate plant growth. Seedlings are grown locally. Uses seeds of domestic selection, grows carrots, onions, watermelon, melon. Part of the arable land is allocated for the cultivation of alfalfa and barley.
As the first deputy minister noted, over the past 5 years, cultural and technical work in Dagestan has been carried out on an area of almost 14 thousand hectares. In this case, state support in carrying out cultural and technical work played a large positive role, the state reimburses half of the costs of their implementation. This offer of assistance turned out to be in demand among Dagestan farmers, since many farms did not have the opportunity to put in order arable land overgrown with trees and shrubs at their own expense.
“The Kizlyar region has traditionally been one of the leading regions in the republic for growing vegetables in open ground. Today, the state has set a task to increase the production of vegetable crops. In 2022, it is planned to allocate about 43 thousand hectares for the cultivation of open ground vegetables in Dagestan, which is 2.5 thousand hectares more than in 2021. There are many experienced business executives in the republic, such as the farmer Magad Suleymanov. This means that we are able to fulfill the task and increase the production of vegetables, which will allow us to supply them, including outside the republic,” Sharip Sharipov noted.
