In recent years, a number of strategic decisions have been made at the federal and regional levels to ensure reliable support for rural workers and the dynamic development of the industry. Today, modern equipment has begun to appear in our fields, new production facilities are opening, I want to believe that a new image of the Dagestan village will be formed,” noted the head of the region.
Noting the successes of Dagestan farmers, Sergei Melikov announced record figures in such areas as rice growing, viticulture and livestock breeding.
“Our rice farmers have harvested a record harvest in the entire history of rice cultivation - more than 150 thousand tons; a high milestone in grape production has also been achieved - more than 280 thousand tons. Dagestan livestock breeders continue to maintain a high bar . Most recently, we hosted the All-Russian Fair of Pedigree Sheep and Goats, where sheep farmers from all over the country came to share their experience and study the achievements of livestock farming in the republic. Behind every achieved result is the hard work of hundreds of people. it is different for everyone: some grow agricultural and livestock products, others process them. And everyone is united by one thing – love for the Motherland,” he said.
Sergei Melikov also awarded state awards to distinguished agricultural workers and veterans. The head of the region thanked them for their daily dedicated work.
