The festival opened in the capital of Chuvashia - the city of Cheboksary on August 12 and will last until August 19.
“This is the second festival dedicated to hop growing and brewing that we are holding here in Chuvashia, the northernmost point in the world where hops are produced. Interest, as we see, is very high. More than 130 participants have already signed up for the business program, although we expected about 40. And the entertainment program in the river port, I think, will bring together about 70 thousand visitors,” said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture of Chuvashia Sergei Artamonov .
The HEAD of the region, Oleg Nikolaev, noted at the opening ceremony that such events are aimed not only at organizing cultural and entertainment events, but, first of all, contribute to solving serious issues related to the development of hop growing. “This year the festival has become truly all-Russian and we have every opportunity to develop and combine the existing competencies in restaurants, catering and hop growing,” he said.
Foam drinks are sold at the festival by representatives of 21 factories from 11 regions of RUSSIA - Kaluga, Samara, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, Leningrad, Ulyanovsk, Penza, Moscow regions, Tatarstan, Mari El and Chuvashia. The gastronomic territory was filled with 25 catering establishments and farmers.
Sea crabs, a minute and a half pizza, knuckle, ox on a spit, briskets, nachos and even hop malt ice cream - a rich variety of dishes, names and serving options. “We cook joy and give it to friends”, “We are ready to surprise, and are you ready to be surprised?”, “Because we are the best” - each plant has its own motto and distinctive varieties of products.
For the first time, a museum of brewing and village life was opened at the festival. As Sergey Artamonov pointed out, “utensils that were used in brewing were brought from all municipal districts and master classes are held: they welcome guests, show how the drink was brewed before. Each yard had its own recipes, therefore, on different days, different regions of the republic will be presented in the museum, and each will show and talk about brewing in its own way.
