A good sunflower harvest is expected in Chuvashia

According to the operational data of the Ministry of Agriculture of Chuvashia, the gross yield of grain, potatoes and vegetables may exceed the average values ​​for the last 4 years. In particular, almost 44 thousand hectares have been sown with oilseeds this year, 4 thousand of which are “given” to sunflowers.

Now two varieties of oilseeds are growing on the plot: “Revanche” and “Skormas”.
“The yield is somewhere between 25-30 centners. It depends on the variety, and also on the weather. This year it rained. The weather is favorable. We think the harvest will be good,” said farmer Ilnar Yamaletdinov.
The farmer also grows barley, oats and corn. Work is currently underway to prepare fodder: the farm has 100 bulls. The head of the Batyrevsky District, Rudolf Selivanov, recalls that just a couple of years ago, the fields were decorated only with weeds. The picture has changed thanks to proactive residents and government support.
“The government is helping. The same farmer Yamaletdinov participated in two grant support programs, “Beginning Farmer” and “Family Farmer”. Before, when driving through these areas, it was embarrassing to show them, and I was embarrassed for these fields myself. Everything was overgrown with weeds. But today, in fact, it is beautiful,” said the head of the Batyrevsky Municipal District, Rudolf Selivanov.
Government support is a serious help for farmers. For example, this year, three participants became winners of a grant for the development of family farms. In total, they received 45 million rubles.
