In 2022, it is planned to increase the sown area under onions and cabbage in the Saratov region

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Saratov region is developing a work plan with a justification of the volume of crop production, which will provide the needs of the region's population with food products at the expense of its own production and fulfill the tasks set by the Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA.

In 2022, it is planned to grow vegetables in all categories of farms on an area of ​​15.4 thousand hectares, which is at the level of the current year, including in agricultural organizations, peasant (farmer) farms - on an area of ​​8.6 thousand hectares.

It should be noted that among the 14 subjects of the Volga Federal District, the region has the largest areas of open ground vegetables and occupies a leading position in terms of production of open ground vegetables in agricultural enterprises and peasant farms.

The largest areas of vegetable crops are located in the left-bank districts of the region, of which 60% is grown on irrigation.
Currently, work is underway with vegetable farms to optimize the structure of sown areas under vegetable crops. Next year it is planned to increase the sown area under onions and cabbage.
