About a million tests were carried out in the Rostov Regional Veterinary Laboratory in 2021

The Rostov Regional Veterinary Laboratory summed up the results of the work for the past year.

So, for the twelve months of 2021, the testing laboratory received almost 462 thousand materials. Laboratory specialists conducted 931,000 studies, including examinations on the execution of the state task in the field of ensuring epizootic well-being. Most of the studies conducted by the regional laboratory are serological, they were carried out by more than 702 thousand. 59 thousand materials were examined by PCR, 29 thousand studies were carried out by ELISA, and 5.3 thousand studies were carried out by fluorescent microscopy. Bacteriological studies conducted 55 thousand.

Monitoring is a separate line. Thus, 43.7 thousand studies were carried out in the laboratory for African swine fever, almost 61 thousand studies for highly pathogenic avian influenza.

In addition, in the reporting year, the Rostov Regional Veterinary Laboratory successfully passed the competence confirmation procedure and expanded the scope of accreditation by 39 positions (diagnosis of foot-and-mouth disease, anthrax, classical swine fever, capripoxviruses, testing for the presence of antibiotics and pesticides in products, assessment of the sanitary condition of premises and etc.), and also took part in interlaboratory comparative tests for more than 20 different indicators. All results of participation in MSI are positive.

In 2021, 26 laboratory employees underwent advanced training.
