Grain and soybean yields in the Saratov region are 20% higher than the long-term average values ​​over the past 5 years

At a briefing held at the site of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, the deputy chairman of the regional government -Regional Minister of Agriculture Roman Kovalsky spoke about the progress of seasonal field work.
According to him, 5.5 million tons of grain have been threshed in the region with an average yield of 24.5 c/ha. This is 20% higher than the long-term average values ​​over the past 5 years. In terms of gross harvest, the Saratov region is the leader in the Volga Federal District. The region is also the leader in the Volga Federal District in terms of gross sunflower harvest. By October 26, 1,152 thousand hectares of oil seeds (77%) had been harvested, the gross harvest was 1 million 554 thousand tons. In terms of gross harvest, the Saratov region is the leader in the Volga Federal District.
Roman Kovalsky also reported that over the past 5 years, soybean yields have increased and, accordingly, the gross yield has increased. 86 thousand tons were threshed, which is 2.8 times more than the long-term average values ​​over the last 5 years (30.1 thousand tons).
In addition, potato harvesting has been completed in the region , and the pace of vegetable harvesting is higher than last year. The foraging campaign has also been completed. For the upcoming wintering, 15.7 c.c. have been prepared for 1 conditional HEAD. meals of roughage and succulent feed (101% of the requirement). “The 2023 harvest fully satisfied the region’s internal needs and covered the needs of processing enterprises. Task: to develop storage and processing capacities and develop new markets,” summed up Roman Kovalsky.
