USAU was visited by the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia D.N. Patrushev

On July 1, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Nikolaevich Patrushev made a working visit to Yekaterinburg.
The HEAD of the agrarian department held a meeting of the Ministry of Agriculture's operational headquarters to ensure the stable functioning of the agro-industrial complex and a working meeting with the governor Evgeny Vladimirovich Kuyvashev, visited a number of enterprises in the region and the Ural State Agrarian University.

In USAU D.N. Patrushev got acquainted with the infrastructure, educational and scientific achievements of the university. The presentation of the university was held by its rector O.G. Loretz:
“More than 5,000 students study at the university at 6 faculties, of which about 12% are foreigners. To implement the connection between education and practice, the university trains students at 32 departments, including those located at the leading enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of the Sverdlovsk region and the Republic of Crimea.

Olga Gennadievna emphasized that the scientific activities of the university are implemented within the framework of priority areas for the development of the country's agricultural sector: breeding and seed production, feed production for animals and poultry, organic farming, deep processing and storage of agricultural products, problems of productive longevity of animals, the study of carbon-negative crops and others. In 2022, it is planned to create an Agrotechnopark in the educational and experimental farm of USAU, which will allow the implementation of innovative projects in educational and scientific activities using a practice-oriented approach.

The rector of the university thanked D.N. Patrushev for the allocation of a targeted subsidy for the creation in 2021 at USAU of a scientific and educational center of modern technologies, which includes 2 laboratories: city farming and robotics. Thanks to this platform, students receive key competencies in digitalization, robotization and automation of production processes.
