Harvesting campaign in Kuzbass crossed the equator

Today, the Minister of Agriculture and Processing Industry of the region Andrey Aritkulov reported at the operational meeting of the Government of Kuzbass on the progress of autumn field work.
According to operational data as of September 19, 418.4 thousand hectares (68.1%) of grain and leguminous crops were threshed, including spring wheat threshed from an area of ​​193.9 thousand hectares, barley - 96 thousand hectares, peas - 51 .5 thousand hectares, oats - 41.5 thousand hectares. In general, 1 million 365.4 thousand tons of grain were harvested in the region with an average grain yield of 32.6 c/ha.
“The lack of positive temperatures in the summer period had a negative impact on the ripening of agricultural crops, it occurs 5-7 days later than usual. However, the pace of the harvesting campaign is currently at the level of last year, the yield and gross harvest of agricultural crops exceed last year's values,” the minister commented.
He also singled out the municipalities where grain harvesting is ahead of schedule: these are Guryevskiy, Kemerovo, Krapivinsky, Leninsk-Kuznetsky, Mariinsky, Prokopyevskiy and Promyshlenny districts.
In addition to cereals, farmers harvest industrial crops (15.8 thousand hectares), potatoes (4.9 thousand hectares), vegetables - 282 hectares. Procurement of fodder for farm animals for the winter-stall period continues. To date, 104.9 thousand tons of hay (97.1%), 298 thousand tons of haylage (93.8%), 40.8 thousand tons of silage (41.4%) of silage have been harvested. The farms are sowing winter crops: more than 32,000 hectares of rye, wheat and colza have been sown. Autumn tillage is being carried out, 88.4 thousand hectares have already been processed.
