The Voronovskoye farm in the Kozhevnikovsky district has begun threshing winter rye. Approximately 300 tons of grain from the first 150 hectares have been delivered to the threshing floor.
According to Valery Vilt, the farm's director, ten pieces of equipment were working in the fields.
"The farm traditionally begins harvesting in late July. This year, we carried out a trial threshing in fields where the rye had an average winter, but had matured faster. In other fields, the ears are still green," Vilt noted.
Voronovskoye LLC is one of the few farms in the region that grow winter rye. The company allocates approximately 4,000 hectares of its 13,000 hectares to this crop annually and remains committed to the Siberian-bred Tetra-Korotkaya variety. In terms of grain size and ear productivity, this variety significantly surpasses all regionalized Siberian diploid rye varieties and is highly resistant to lodging.
Farms are expected to actively begin harvesting winter crops at the beginning of next week.
