In December last year, the Tomsk region received funds from the President's contingency reserve fund to reimburse the cost of buying feed for dairy cattle.
More than 30 large and medium-sized agricultural organizations and peasant farms of the region received 53.5 million rubles. The list of fodder, the purchase of which is covered by support, includes about 15 items, including feed grain, hay, haylage, silage, cake, protein and vitamin concentrates, etc.
“This type of support allowed farmers to return to a full, balanced diet of cows. Due to a significant rise in the cost of feed in 2021, many farmers were forced to revise their diet in favor of cheaper products, which naturally affected MILK productivity, ”explained Alexander Savenko, Deputy HEAD of the Department for Social and Economic Development of the Village of the Tomsk Region.
Thanks to the state support provided, a balanced diet has been restored. According to the results of January of this year, the productivity of Tomsk cows increased by 1% compared to January of the previous year.
In 2022, compensation from the federal budget for the purchase of feed for cattle will remain. The total amount to support livestock throughout the country will amount to 10 billion rubles.
