Modern greenhouse complexes make a significant contribution to the treasury of indicators of agricultural activity in the Stavropol Territory. At the same time, year-round production of fresh tomatoes is carried out by five large greenhouses.
One of the largest and most modern complexes where tomatoes and greens are grown is the greenhouse complex of Dolina Solntsa LLC in the Piedmont District. The enterprise is the leader in the region in the production of environmentally friendly products, which are in high demand not only in the Stavropol Territory, but also in large cities of RUSSIA. The total production area of the enterprise is 13.2 hectares, where more than 5 thousand vegetables are grown per year.
“When creating the complex, advanced technologies were used: own generation of electricity, a boiler room with a heat accumulator, a robotic line for the production of salads, as well as Japanese film, which transmits the entire spectrum of ultraviolet radiation, which ensures high quality and taste of the grown products. Resource-saving technologies make it possible to grow high-quality tomatoes and mini-salads (baby-leafs) year-round,” said Yanis Galanidi, General DIRECTOR of Sun Valley LLC.
Recently, specialists from Dolina Solntsa LLC have released completely new types of lettuces that have never been grown in Russia before.
“Greenhouse vegetable growing is one of the most dynamically developing areas of crop production in our region. This year, the area of greenhouse complexes amounted to 263 hectares. At the same time, the total volume of production during the same time reached 88 thousand tons, of which more than 66 thousand tons were produced, cucumbers - 21 thousand tons, and other vegetables 360 tons. The top three leading enterprises in this area included Solnechny Dar LLC, Izobilnensky District, where more than 32 thousand tons of vegetables were produced, Stavropol Vegetables LLC, Kirov District, where more than 20 thousand tons of vegetables were produced, and Eco-Culture TK LLC Kirov District, where more than 6,000 tons of vegetables were produced,” said Evgeny Grishchenko, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.
