
 Agricultural producers of the Trans-Baikal Territory sowed spring crops on an area of 55.4 thousand hectares, which is 25% higher than last year. This was announced by the HEAD of the regional Ministry of Agriculture Denis Bochkarev. 
 “Grain crops were sown on an area of 31.5 thousand hectares, a year ago, on this date, 25 thousand hectares were sown. Sowing of the main food crop - wheat is carried out by farms of 21 districts. Rapeseed was sown on an area of 11.8 thousand hectares - at the level of the previous year. The sowing of flax is nearing completion – this oil crop is sown on 10.3 thou. hectares, which is 51 times higher than in 2021, when the farmers of the region carried out field work on 200 hectares,” the minister said.
 Also, agricultural enterprises of the Chita and Uletovsky districts continue planting potatoes and vegetables in open ground. To date, potatoes have been planted on an area of 264 hectares, or 33.7% of the plan. Vegetables are planted on 43.5 hectares or 38% of the planned area. 
 The total area of agricultural crops this year in Transbaikalia will be 215 thousand hectares. The sowing campaign will end at the end of June with the sowing of fodder crops.
