Tambov farmers harvested more than 2 million tons of sugar beets

The harvesting campaign continues on the fields of Tambov region. According to the operational information of the regional department of agriculture, growers have harvested more than 2 million tons of SUGAR beets. 57% of fields processed.

The yield of "sweet roots" this year is significantly higher than in 2020 - 362 centners per hectare (2020 - 337 centners per hectare). In total, about 100 thousand hectares of arable land are sown with sugar beet in the region. According to experts, it is planned to harvest about 4 million tons of culture in the Tambov region (2020 - 3.2 million tons). Experts believe that the increase in harvest will help stabilize sugar prices this year.
Tambov enterprises are actively processing the 2021 harvest.

More than 150 thousand tons of sugar have already been produced from the new harvest. At the end of this year, the region is expected to increase sugar production to 590 thousand tons (2020 - 514 thousand tons).
