The Tambov region ranks third in the Central Federal District in the production of feed

In 2021, the Tambov region produced more than 1.3 million tons of feed, which is 3.8% more than the previous year. With this indicator, Tambov region occupies the third position in the ranking of regions of the Central Federal District.
In the structure of production of Tambov compound feed, over 54% falls on the production of compound feed for birds. So, in 2021, almost 708 thousand tons were produced, which is 13% more than in 2020. A significant share is also occupied by the production of compound feed for pigs - more than 43%, almost 569 thousand tons were produced. The region also produces compound feed for fish, cattle, and rabbits.
“In 2022, it is planned to increase the production capacity for the production of compound feed in the Tambov region,” notes the head of the region, Maxim Egorov. “The active development of animal husbandry, as well as the formed raw material base, will allow our region to further increase the volume of feed production.”
At present, there are 10 large enterprises for the production of complete animal feed in the Tambov region.
