On December 22, more than 100 sires were delivered by road to Chita to the Trans-Baikal breeding center from the Stavropol Territory and the Volgograd Region. This was announced by the DIRECTOR of the enterprise Galina Bronnikova.
“In total, 109 heads of animals of four breeds were received: Russian MEAT merino, Dzhalga merino, sheep of the North Caucasian meat-wool and Edilbaev breeds. One-year-old rams were purchased by leading breeding reproducers and farms from the Chita, Borzinsky, Olovyanninsky, Zabaikalsky, Aginsky, Duldurginsky and Mogoytuysky districts,” said the HEAD of the Transbaikal Livestock Breeding Center, which organized the purchase and delivery of animals.
According to her, the sheep endured the road well and on December 23 farms will start picking them up. Upon arrival at the parking lot, they will be quarantined for three weeks.
Sheep-producers were purchased as part of the implementation of the activities of the comprehensive program for the development of sheep breeding in the Trans-Baikal Territory until 2030. All farms will be partially subsidized for the purchase of breeding animals imported from outside the region.
it should be noted that the importation of breeding animals to the Trans-Baikal Territory is carried out annually in order to improve the productive qualities.
