Beets in the Stavropol Territory meet all phytometric criteria

Elena Tambovtseva, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, and Olga Kuznetsova, Acting HEAD of the Stavropol Branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr", made a working trip to the collective farm "Rodina" in the Novoaleksandrovsky District, where , together with the head of the farm, Viktor Dubina, and the chief agronomist, Nikolai Makovkin, they assessed domestic SUGAR beet hybrids. selection. Also, the survey was attended by the deputy head of the branch of the Rosselkhozcenter for seed production Natalya Kovaleva and the deputy head of the department of agriculture of the Novoaleksandrovsky urban district Olga Tokmakova.

- We examined demonstration beet crops for phytosanitary conditions, and also checked phytometric indicators: the number of leaves, their length and width, the area of ​​leaf plates, the biomass of the leaf apparatus, the diameter and weight of root crops, and other qualities. The cultivation of sugar beet in the third soil climatic zone of the Stavropol Territory has its own characteristics, and this process is under constant control of the Stavropol branch of the Russian Agricultural Center and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory. According to the results of the survey, the crops were rated as good. A regional seminar for sugar beet growers is planned for the beginning of August to exchange experience.

Viktor Dubina, chairman of the Rodina collective farm, said that the farm grows six varieties of sugar beets (mainly hybrid ones) on an area of ​​400 hectares. Last year, the yield was 760 centners per hectare. Since the SEC is trying to strictly observe the rules of agricultural technology and, in agreement with the specialists of the regional branch of the Rosselkhozcenter, carry out protective measures in a timely manner, there is every reason to get a decent harvest this year.
