With the establishment of favorable weather on the territory of the region, the Stavropol agrarians of the region are actively involved in the work of harvesting tilled crops. To date, 207 thousand hectares of sunflower have been harvested in the region with an average yield of 19.9 centners per hectare and 411 thousand tons have been received. Corn harvested 45 thousand hectares with an average yield of 52.3 centners per hectare and received 236 thousand tons. This is 74% and 33%, respectively, and the region's agricultural producers still have a lot of work ahead of them.
SUGAR beet showed good yields this year - with an average of 575 centners per hectare, 18 thousand hectares have already been harvested in the region and 1.24 million tons have been received. The first to dig sweet culture began in the Novoaleksandrovsky, Izobilnensky and Trunovsky districts. Then Krasnogvardeisky and Kochubeevsky districts joined them. In the latter, 4.4 thousand hectares out of 9.3 thousand hectares have been harvested to date. sugar beets.
“The highest yield of sugar beets was shown by such farms as: the collective farm-stud farm named after. Chapaeva, SHP "Kolos", LLC "Mezhdurechye" - about 630-650 kg / ha. Sugar content ranges from 12.5 to 13%, which is an average. We ship tubers to the Krasnodar Territory and Karachay-Cherkessia, ”said Alexander Chergin, agronomist of the Kochubeevsky District Agriculture Department.
More than 30 farms in five districts are engaged in the production of sugar beet in the Stavropol Territory. This year they have sown 30 thousand hectares of crops against 26 thousand hectares last year. The largest areas for sugar beets were used by farmers in the Novoaleksandrovsky district - 9.9 thousand hectares and in the Izobilnensky district - 7.8 thousand hectares.
The processing of root crops in the Stavropol Territory is carried out by Stavropolsakhar JSC in the Izobilnensky District. This year it opened its 53rd production season.
“At the same time, high humidity slows down the harvesting of row crops. The greatest difficulties arose with the harvesting of sunflower from agricultural producers of the fourth soil-climatic zone of the region, where only 59% of the area of the calculated indicator was harvested, ”explained the acting. First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory Evgeny Grishchenko.
When harvesting corn, farmers try to harvest grain with the highest dry matter content. Such results can be achieved through the cultivation of hybrids with good moisture yield and the use of productive harvesting machines. In addition, during the sowing period, agricultural producers applied organic and mineral fertilizers in higher doses to obtain high yields of tilled crops than for conventional row sowing plants.
