Stavropol took 3rd place in Russia in terms of export of meat products

For the second year in a row, the Stavropol Territory is among the three largest exporting regions of MEAT products.

In the structure of exports of agricultural products of the region, meat products also occupy a leading position - 44% of the total sales abroad.

“The main commodity item in meat products is poultry meat. it is exported to 30 countries of the world, while the main volume is exported to CHINA (19 thousand tons), Saudi Arabia (14 thousand tons), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (2.6 thousand tons). Stavropol products are also known in the Philippines and Maldives, Serbia and Vietnam. The main enterprise that supplies poultry meat abroad is the poultry plants of GAP Resurs in Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk,” said Dmitry Frolko, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.

Last year, Stavropol exported poultry meat worth $125 million . This direction of EXPORT annually retains its demand along with the supply of grain and oil and fat products abroad.

At the same time, the export of products abroad from the territory of the region is carried out by 252 agricultural producers. The main foreign economic partners are still Azerbaijan, China, Georgia.

“As part of the implementation of the regproject Export of Agricultural Products (Stavropol Territory), which is part of the national project International Cooperation and Export, last year we increased exports by 10%, bringing it to 406 million US dollars. To do this, the region has established cooperation with all trade missions of the Russian Federation in the countries of presence, export attaches for the agro-industrial complex, through which the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory receives export requests for products,” said Dmitry Frolko, Deputy HEAD of the Agricultural Department of the Stavropol Territory.

Last year, the regional Ministry of Agriculture processed more than 30 export requests for a number of agricultural products and noted the high interest of Stavropol exporters in entering the countries of the Middle East and the African continent.
