Since the beginning of the year, specialists from the Krasnoyarsk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “TsOK APK” have disinfected almost 100 thousand tons of grain and grain products

The agricultural industry regularly faces a serious threat - pests that destroy valuable grain reserves.
From planting to storage, the grain sector remains the dominant direction of the agricultural economy. When grain is stored in improper conditions with high humidity and pollution, this provokes the development of harmful microorganisms. Such damage leads to critical degradation of the grain quality - it loses its nutritional value and becomes unsuitable for the food industry, livestock feeding and future sowing.
During storage, grain is exposed to many destructive effects, among which the most dangerous is the damage to grain reserves by pests. To minimize these risks, it is critical to systematically disinfect both the grain itself and the storage facilities.
In the first quarter of 2025, employees of the Krasnoyarsk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "CSC AIC" treated 89.9 thousand tons of grain (oats, rapeseed, wheat, peas , flax, buckwheat, barley), intended for both the domestic market and for EXPORT deliveries, as well as 8.2 thousand tons of grain processing products ( FLOUR , oilcake). In addition, the branch's specialists disinfected 131.5 tons of imported fruit and vegetable products.
Alexander Shustov, HEAD of the Quarantine Phytosanitary Disinfection Department of the Krasnoyarsk Branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TsOK APK" emphasizes the importance of systematic disinfection of storage facilities to maintain the quality of grain reserves.
"Regular treatment directly affects the safety of products. Harmful arthropods andinsects can cause irreparable damage to food reserves, — the expert explains. — In addition to the quantitative reduction of reserves, there is a significant deterioration in quality characteristics: the grain forms lumps and acquires an unpleasant musty aroma. Such transformations significantly reduce the consumer value and applicability of stored products.
The fight against grain pests requires regular disinfection measures using innovative processing methods. FSBI "CSC APK" emphasizes the need for sanitary treatment of grain storage facilities and the grain itself for all participants in the agricultural sector. Effective protection of products not only prevents their spoilage, but also ensures the financial stability of producers, while guaranteeing consumer safety. Proper observance of the frequency of preventive measures is a fundamental aspect of maintaining the quality of grain reserves.
The Krasnoyarsk branch emphasizes the importance and necessity of licensing when working with hazardous chemicals: "FSBI "CSC APK" has the necessary license for the use of pesticides of all four hazard classes. The correct use of these drugs guarantees safety for the environment, people, animals and preserves the quality of the processed products."
