Modern technologies of traditional industries: a new robotic farm opened in the Vologda region

In the village of Vasilyevskoye, the construction of a farm was completed at JSC Plemzavod Rodina. it is designed for 543 heads of cattle. The Governor of the Vologda Oblast Oleg Kuvshinnikov took part in the opening.

The construction of the farm started last year. A cowshed, a maternity unit and utility rooms were equipped here. The farm employs eight people, the complex is fully robotized.

“There are six milking robots on this farm, and one more pushes feed towards the cows. The complex is unique in that for the first time equipment for automatic manure removal was installed. This allows us to reduce the physical load on a person,” said Natalia Shilovskaya, General DIRECTOR of JSC “Plemzavod Rodina”.

Thanks to the launch of the farm, the herd of JSC "Plemzavod Rodina" increased to almost six thousand heads. Now the new complex is 34% full. Cattle have been partially taken from all complexes, while the farms from which the cattle are sent to the new barn remain working. Over time, the herd will be replenished with young animals. The company plans to supply the received MILK to OJSC "Severnoye Moloko".

Let's add that this year JSC "Plemzavod Rodina" celebrated its 90th anniversary. The enterprise ranks sixth in terms of milk production and second in terms of gross grain harvest. In 2007 JSC "Plemzavod Rodina" for the first time in the country introduced into production an automated system for voluntary milking of cows by robots. To date, the company has installed 26 robots.

“This is a 21st century farm with modern equipment. This technique increases labor productivity and improves the living conditions of animals. Robots automatically check the quality of milk, which allows selecting only the best for the production of a real Vologda product,” said Oleg Kuvshinnikov, Governor of the Vologda Region. – To date, 76 robots have been installed on farms in the Vologda Oblast. According to this indicator, we are one of the leaders in the Russian Federation, and we are also among the best in terms of milk production - almost 600 thousand tons per year. The Vologda region is in the TOP-5 of the best regions of RUSSIA in terms of milk quality.”

According to the management of the enterprise, in the near future JSC "Plemzavod Rodina" plans to start construction of a new feed mill for a balanced diet of animals.

“The opening of such a farm is a new page in the development of the livestock complex in the Vologda region. For the last three years, we have been opening new farms in the municipality every year. This year here, in the village of Vasilyevskoye. Next year, we are planning to open a livestock breeding complex in the village of Kurkino,” said Sergei Zhestyannikov, HEAD of the Vologda region.

To date, design and estimate documentation has already been developed, which is undergoing state examination.
