The Crop Production Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea conducted a working visit to greenhouse complexes in the Bakhchisaray District. The purpose of the visit was to monitor the progress of the harvest, assess the condition of greenhouse facilities, and discuss the further development of the protected-ground agriculture industry in the region.
Currently, the total area of greenhouse complexes in the Republic of Crimea is approximately 70 hectares. Thanks to modern agricultural technologies and efficient labor management, Crimean farmers ensure stable vegetable production throughout the year.
As of today, the gross harvest of protected-ground vegetables amounted to over 8,000 tons of cucumbers, over 2,000 tons of tomatoes, and 115.9 tons of other vegetable crops.
Crimean greenhouses play a key role in ensuring food security in the region, promoting import substitution and increasing local production.
