The draft budget of the Moscow Region for 2022 provides for 103 million rubles in grant support for cheese producers in the region. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region Sergei Voskresensky.
“The Moscow Region is one of the largest producers of cheese, and this year we have come out on top in Russia in this area. Farmers who develop cheese production in the region next year will receive subsidies in the amount of 103 million rubles. State support is planned to be provided in the form of a grant,” Sergei Voskresensky said.
The minister recalled that state support for cheese makers is being resumed next year. The total amount of grants issued to 11 cheese producers in the Moscow region from 2017 to 2019 amounted to 260 million rubles.
“The maximum grant amount will be 35 million rubles - 60% of the project. With this money, cheese makers will be able to purchase modular cheese dairies, repair and reconstruct existing facilities, purchase modern equipment and machinery for the production, storage and marketing of cheeses,” Sergei Voskresensky said.
He added that today not only residents of the Moscow region, but also the capital and neighboring regions know and are happy to buy farm cheeses near Moscow. Also, a cheese factory from the Moscow region became the owner of the first gold medal in the Russian Federation at the World Cheese Championship in Italy.
