Agricultural producers of the Irkutsk region increase production volumes

“In January-March of this year, there was an increase in production volumes in all categories of livestock and poultry farms for slaughter in live weight by 6.4%. Peasant (private) farms produced 2.7% more MILK, 1.6% more MEAT of cattle, sheep and goats - 29.7%. In agricultural organizations, the volume of produced meat of all types increased by 7.7%, including pork - by 17.1%, poultry - by 5.4%, ”explained Ilya Sumarokov.

To date, agricultural producers and food producers of the region are working as usual. Spring field work began in Usolsky and Irkutsk regions. it is expected that in the third decade of April, work will begin in other districts of the region.

At the end of 2021, the Angara region is fully provided with grain - 102.1%, eggs - 156.6%, food SALT due to its own production. The level of self-sufficiency in potatoes, according to preliminary estimates, is 92%, vegetables - 52%, milk - 86%, meat - 62%, including poultry meat - 81%, beef - 55%, pork - 56%.

The minister noted that the main volume of grain produced in the region is fodder grain, so the region remains dependent on supplies from other regions of food grains used as raw materials for the production of FLOUR. Taking into account the cultivation in the region of zoned wheat varieties that are potentially suitable for use for food purposes, it is planned to produce at least 60 thousand tons of food grade 3 wheat.

The agro-industrial complex of the Angara region has been tasked with increasing the production of oilseeds by 15.6 thousand tons this year, increasing the collection of open-ground vegetables and potatoes in agricultural organizations and peasant (farm) farms.

“The Ministry of Agriculture of the Irkutsk Region has fully preserved all state support measures for the current year - these are subsidies and grants in more than 50 areas. The stable operation of the agro-industrial complex in the current conditions is a large set of measures, it depends on coordinated work at all levels. We keep the necessary issues under control, we are in contact with all interested parties,” Ilya Sumarokov stressed.
