
According to forecasts, spring sowing in the Ryazan region will begin in about a month, depending on weather conditions. To date, Ryazan agricultural enterprises and farms have almost completed preparations for sowing.
According to preliminary data, this year the total sown area will increase by another 30 thousand hectares and will approach 1 million 100 thousand hectares - this is the maximum over the past 25 years.
The condition of winter crops - cereals and oilseeds, sown in autumn, is currently assessed as good.
Fertilizers are imported at a faster pace, taking into account the autumn application, 278 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers were purchased, which is 39% more than last year on the same date. Seeds of spring cereals have been prepared in the required quantity, and the purchase of seeds of beets, corn and oilseeds is nearing completion.
In agricultural enterprises and farms of the region, seed preparation is being completed: sorting and cleaning, as well as bringing them to sowing conditions - if necessary, drying. To date, 90.8 thousand tons of seeds of spring cereals and leguminous crops have been planted, which is 105.2% of the need, of which 91.8% meets the sowing conditions, which is slightly higher than last year.
Today, the readiness of agricultural machinery to enter the field has exceeded 90%.
Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Ryazan Region Dmitry Filippov and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the region Boris Shemyakin traditionally meet with the heads of agricultural enterprises and farmers of each district on the eve of the sowing campaign, such meetings have already been held in 12 districts, and on February 24 another meeting was held in the Shilovsky district. At the meetings, they discuss the results of 2021, tasks for 2022 and measures of state support for the agricultural sector.
