The Don region ranks first in wheat production in RUSSIA.
As part of the working visit, representatives of the Don government visited the enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of the Kasharsky district, met with agribusiness and the public.
The first point was the fields of the SPK "Kievskiy", where at that time the fertilization of winter wheat with nitrogen fertilizers was being completed.
“The Kasharsky District is a territory where agricultural production is traditionally developed,” emphasized Viktor Goncharov, First Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region. - I want to immediately note that there are sufficient food supplies in the region and there are prerequisites for a decent harvest. Now the Don agro-industrial complex is already starting spring field work, farmers are feeding winter crops with mineral fertilizers.”
So in the SEC "Kievskiy" winter wheat has already been fed on 80% of the area.
“All seeds of spring and winter crops of domestic selection are regularly submitted for analysis to the Rosselkhoztsentr seed inspection before sowing, because if they are of high quality, then the seeding rate is lower, the yield is better, and there are fewer diseases,” said the HEAD of the agricultural enterprise Nikolai Kogtev.
In general, in the Rostov region, since the fall of 2021, more area has been sown with winter crops than last year - 2.9 million hectares (2.8 in 2020). Sprouted - 99.8% of crops. To date, 1.3 million hectares, or 45% of the total area sown with winter grains, have been fed.
“Besides, in the spring Don agrarians will have to sow more than 1.8 million hectares of spring crops, including almost 700 thousand hectares of cereals and legumes,” Victor Goncharov specified, “94% of the seeds have already been harvested. In the south of the region, several farms have already carried out trial sowing of early spring crops. But so far, only 9.2 thousand hectares or 0.5% of the plan have been sown, as the weather conditions did not allow the start of a full-scale sowing campaign. If the weather forecast is favorable, spring sowing will pick up pace from the middle of next week.”
The next point of the visit was the bakery of the agricultural group of companies "Svetly", where a few days ago the management decided to reduce the cost of social bread by 7 rubles. Now a loaf of shaped bread of the 1st grade in this bakery costs 20 rubles. Bread from the Kashar bakery is delivered to several shops in the area.
“The decision to reduce the price of social bread is our conscious choice,” noted the Svetly group of companies. “Yes, we will have to work in one position without profit, but in the current situation we consider this approach to be the only correct one.”
Victor Goncharov noted that the actions of Svetly Group of Companies are a worthy example of socially responsible agribusiness.
During the meeting, it was noted that last year the prices for grain, as well as for other food products in the world, increased greatly, which led to an increase in prices in the domestic market. In this regard, the enterprises of the baking industry were provided with state support in the total amount of 74.2 million rubles. During the period of receiving the subsidy, the enterprises did not increase the prices of their products. In the current economic conditions, producers, at the request of the regional authorities, agreed to raise the price of social bread by a maximum of 10%, instead of the previously proposed 15%.
“The Rostov region produces the largest amount of wheat in Russia, we are leaders in this area in the country. So, last year, more than 11 million tons of wheat were produced on the Don. Almost all of it is of bakery quality, - Viktor Goncharov stated. “However, the cost of grain in bread is only 33%, the rest is ingredients, electricity, as well as utilities, the labor of bakers.”
Today, federal and regional authorities have taken further measures to prevent price increases. First of all, to protect the domestic food market at the federal level, a temporary embargo was recently introduced on the EXPORT of grain and SUGAR to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. Restrictions on grain will be in effect until June 30, on sugar - until August 31.
In addition, in the second quarter, bread producers in the Don who will not allow price increases will receive subsidies in the amount of more than 53 million rubles.
Also, bakers from the regional budget will be offered subsidies for the modernization of production - almost 144 million rubles.
