Measures to increase the competitiveness of Russian exporters of agricultural products were discussed at an open conference held today, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA together with the Federal Center "Agroexport". Representatives of authorities, banking structures and the business community took part in the event.
As Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sergey Levin noted in his welcoming speech, this year our country, while ensuring its own food security, continues to increase supplies abroad. As of August 22, they increased by 18% compared to the same period last year and amounted to $19.2 billion. At the same time, the share of processed products in the structure of exports increases. The greatest growth is demonstrated by shipments of goods from the oil and fat and MEAT and dairy industries. Among the promising areas - confectionery.
The geography of Russian exports is also expanding. So, in 2021, supplies of soybean oil to Egypt, beef to Morocco, pork to Serbia, and malt to Honduras, El Salvador and Nigeria began for the first time.
To maintain the momentum of development, it is necessary to increase the productivity and competitiveness of domestic agro-industrial enterprises. This is the purpose of state support measures that help companies at different stages of their activities. In this regard, according to the Deputy Minister, great importance is given to informing manufacturers about existing opportunities, as well as building effective communication between the state and business.
