The Russian Science Foundation (RSF), within the framework of the competition "Conducting fundamental scientific research and exploratory scientific research by small separate scientific groups", supported the project of a team of scientists from the Ural State Agrarian University under the leadership of the chief researcher of the Research Institute of Agrarian and Environmental Problems and Agricultural Management of the Ural State Agrarian University, professor, doctor Economic Sciences S. G. Golovina.
The fundamental task of the study is to develop, scientifically substantiate and test the algorithm and mechanisms for introducing new models of agricultural consumer cooperatives into domestic economic practice, which are competitive and able to perform important economic, social, and environmental functions for rural residents. The solution of this problem, firstly, will contribute to the successful activities of agricultural producers through their joint activities and close cooperation, and secondly, will allow us to successfully overcome the consequences of modern challenges and threats within the boundaries of rural space (coronacrisis, foreign economic sanctions , climate anomalies, etc.). ).
The scientific novelty of the project lies in the fact that it focuses not only on the economic efficiency of the functioning of cooperatives, but also on the social efficiency (contribution to the solution of social problems) and environmental (focus on the environmental well-being of rural areas).
The financial support provided in the amount of 3 million rubles is designed for 2 years and implies the creation for practical use of an algorithm for introducing entrepreneurial models of agricultural consumer cooperatives in the Sverdlovsk region, taking into account local specifics, regional potential, local priorities, cultural, socio-economic, institutional features of the functioning of rural areas , and then extrapolation of the obtained results to the all-Russian context.
“The theme of the project fully corresponds to one of the priority areas of research supported by the region, namely “Socio-economic and innovative development of the Sverdlovsk region”. Due to the strategic importance of the agricultural sector of the economy for achieving the national security of the country and its regions (food, biological, environmental, etc.), its growing role in connection with constantly emerging serious challenges and threats, the task of successfully developing agricultural cooperation through the introduction of Russian practice of new business-oriented and socially oriented cooperatives capable of successfully performing economic, social and environmental functions in the countryside. Moreover, its solution is important not only for rural development as such,
The results of the grant will be published in peer-reviewed Russian and foreign scientific publications, as well as brought to the attention of the scientific community at regional, all-Russian and international scientific conferences, in particular, annually organized by the International Cooperative Alliance and the European Association of Agrarian Economists.
