Veterinary Worker's Day in RUSSIA is a professional holiday for specialists who ensure the country's epizootic well-being, the HEALTH of farm and domestic animals, and the safety and quality of products.
"Veterinary medicine is a field that requires a high degree of responsibility. The State Veterinary Service of the Moscow Region is one of the oldest in Russia. Today, it includes 85 veterinary clinics and offices, 15 laboratories, and employs approximately 1,400 specialists. The Moscow Region is a leader in the digital transformation of veterinary medicine, making services even more convenient for pet owners. We have six online services, two government services, and the "Vita" voice assistant has been launched on our hotline. I congratulate our specialists on this professional holiday," he noted.Sergey Dvoynykh, Minister of Agriculture
and Food of the Moscow Region, said: "The main focus of veterinarians is preventing and containing the spread of dangerous animal diseases. Since the beginning of the year, more than 3.1 million cattle, small ruminants, pigs, and more than 168.4 million poultry have been vaccinated on farms of all types. To protect wild carnivores from rabies, 846,400 doses of oral vaccine have been distributed in the region's forests; a total of over 1.2 million doses will be distributed in 2025. This year, veterinarians vaccinated 357,800 domestic animals. About 41,000 pets have been registered in the Unified Regional Registry. On average, a specialist from the State Veterinary Service sees approximately 30 patients per day. Additionally, attention is paid to postgraduate education and professional development for specialists, as well as collaboration with educational institutions.
"The State Veterinary Service of the Moscow Region is one of the main training and production platforms for students from specialized universities and colleges. In 2024 alone , 275 students completed internships at the center, and 25 young specialists became our employees. Our partners include the Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology – MBA named after K.I. Skryabin, the Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.I. Timiryazev, Rosbiotech, RUDN University, as well as Volokolamsk, Kolomensky, Sergiev Posad, and other colleges. In this way, we are building a talent pool. I thank the veterinarians for their work and congratulate them on their holiday," emphasized Sergei Novikov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food – Chief State Veterinary Inspector of the Moscow Region.
A celebratory event dedicated to Veterinary Worker Day of Russia will be held in Vidnoye (Leninsky Urban District) on September 3. Specialists will present reports on the results of the State Veterinary Service of the Moscow Region's work in the main areas of activity. There will also be a ceremony to award employees with letters of gratitude from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region and the Moscow Regional Duma.
