pionerprodukt.by continues to publish a series of videos from AgroExpedition Agriculture of Dagestan. In this video, we will show a peach market near the village of Chirkey in the Buynaksky district of Dagestan.
During our AgroExpeditions, we visit agricultural markets with great pleasure. As always, the market is not only about sales, money and turnover, the market is a social phenomenon, people come here for communication, news, solve problems and start new business.
The market is open during the peach season, which in the region starts from the beginning of June and lasts until mid-September. The cost of peaches fluctuates depending on the season in the range of 250-400 rubles per tray. Price for August 2022
Immediately from the edge of the market we learn about Gadzhi's peaches. Who is Haji, where did he come from, when did these peaches themselves appear, no one knows, but peaches are insanely delicious. Juicy, sweet flesh under a thin skin, which is easily removed with your fingers. And a bone, which is also easily shot off from the pulp.
In addition to peaches, the market also sells berries: blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, as well as figs, plums, grapes, etc. Sellers do not hide the fact that some varieties of berries are not grown here, but purchased. There is nothing wrong with this, each seller seeks to expand the range and earn an extra penny, and it’s easier for buyers - everything is sold in one place.
Also on the market there are stalls with all kinds of souvenirs, the assortment is diverse: from slippers to knives and daddies. Tourists from different regions of the country love to buy items reminiscent of a trip to a hospitable country of mountains.
Walking around the market, we met one of the oldest gardeners of Chirkey, Surkhay, who has been growing peach in Dagestan for forty years. He said that thanks to the industriousness of the inhabitants, the poor post offices of this area have become an orchard, in the truest sense of the word. The locals are friendly to guests and tourists, so we recommend visiting these parts and enjoying delicious fruits. And Sukhrai himself, as always, goes ahead of the market and was the first to grow fig peach, which is also very tasty and sweet!
