Firdinant is a beekeeper already in the 4th generation: his great-grandfather, returning wounded from the war, was called to work at the state farm, but he could not come there, therefore, as a punishment for such liberty, he was assigned to the apiary by a guard, where he learned the basics of beekeeping . Later, he himself began to manage the apiary and pass on knowledge to his family - and this is how the ancestral apiary "Fartal" appeared, the name of which hangs on chains at the main gate.
Pesca repeatedly participates in various agricultural festivals and competitions, incl. and the All-Russian level, in which honey from the apiary of Firdinat Vafin became a laureate.
The Vafin apiary is located in two places and has about 190 bee colonies. Bees of the Karpatka and Karnika breeds, which are distinguished by their peaceful nature.
Daily weighing of beehives is organized at the apiary with duty records kept in a special journal.
The apiary closely cooperates with the beekeeping inspectorate of the Republic, which deals with important issues: education of beekeepers, prevention of injuries and organization of interaction with government agencies and farmers of the region, as well as issues of selling finished honey products.
On the territory of the apiary there is a drinking bowl for bees, which is a barrel from which salt solution drips onto a plank with a groove cut in a zigzag. Drinking water should be salty, the dosage is 1 tablespoon of salt per 10 liters of water, no more, otherwise the life of the bees is shortened.
The average productivity of one hive in Tatarstan is about 25 kilograms. The main commodity products are honey, propolis, wax.
There is also a water wax melter in the apiary, which allows you to sterilize the pumping frames for further use. During a shift, one specialist at a wax melter is able to process 350-400 frames. The cost of wax is 450-500 rubles per kilogram.
