Agrofirm Zheltorangy is located in the Almaty region of the Republic of Kazakhstan and specializes in breeding the Kalmyk breed of cattle. The company began its activities in 2017, having purchased 200 heads. And at the time of filming, the farm has 813 heads of breeding stock.
The Kalmyk breed is not uncommon in Kazakhstan; in terms of its adaptive properties and ability to survive on the most meager pastures, they surpass many breeds of beef cattle.
Kalmyk cattle are fed with clover, hay and reeds. Water for drinking is taken from the lakes, which are located in this area in large quantities. For calves, special compound feed is bought, to which dry premixes and powdered milk are added .
All bulls, upon reaching the required weight, are handed over for slaughter. All livestock on the farm is microchipped, which allows you to trace the pedigree of any animal
All young animals are kept in paddocks until weaning, while cows graze on pasture and are allowed to calves twice a day at 8 and 15 hours.
