The government will continue to implement measures to support domestic plant breeding and seed production, which will ensure the stable development of agriculture in the country. "One of the key research areas at Ural State Agrarian University is the breeding of new domestic vegetable varieties. For example, this year we signed an agreement with the Gavrish Group of Companies. We plan to conduct a series of joint studies. Our scientists plan to develop new hybrids and varieties of tomatoes and cucumbers to supply the domestic market with high-quality seed," commented Olga Loretts, Rector of Ural State Agrarian University and DOCTOR of Biological Sciences. Mikhail Karpushin, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation and Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, attended thematic events dedicated to the scientific development of the agro-industrial complex in the field of plant breeding. He noted: "Participation in such a significant event allows us to establish contacts with leading companies and research institutions, promoting the development of innovation at the university. Thanks to this collaboration, a unique laboratory was established this year at the Faculty of Agricultural Technologies and Land Management, capable of doubling the speed of vegetable crop breeding." Now we can develop highly productive hybrids adapted to the conditions of northern regions in record time.”
