Agricultural enterprises in the Volgograd region have increased production of canned vegetables and ketchup.

According to the regional statistics committee, canned vegetable production increased by 72.8% from January to June 2025 compared to the same period last year, while ketchup and tomato sauce production increased by 68%.
At the height of the vegetable season, Maxim Dolgov, Chairman of the Regional Agricultural Committee, visited the Leninsky District processing plants of Kukhmaster LLC and Agro-Yug LLC on a working visit. The HEAD of the regional agricultural committee inspected the production facilities, which are currently operating around the clock and at full capacity, procuring raw materials and semi-finished products for subsequent canning.
The Volgograd Region ranks first in RUSSIA for the production of canned vegetables with vinegar, ketchup, and tomato sauce. Kukhmaster LLC is among the leading regional vegetable processors. Investment plans include the commissioning of a 7,500-square-meter warehouse for finished product storage this year. The company purchases the lion's share of its vegetable produce from Volgograd farmers :
contracts for the supply of raw materials are signed as early as February and March, allowing farmers to guarantee the sale of their harvest . The main buyers of Kukhmaster LLC's products are virtually all federal and regional retail chains.
Another company with a strong position in the processing sector is Agro-Yug LLC. The company has been operating since 2020 on the site of the former Leninsky Canning Factory: the company has successfully restored the plant and brought it up to modern standards for processing and preserving vegetables. In 2024 , it processed 3.8 thousand tons of vegetables, producing 7.7 million standard cans of finished products, which is 3.3 million standard cans more than in 2023. In the first six months of 2025, the company has already processed 2.5 thousand tons of vegetables. The production capacity allows for the production of more than 30 different types of canned vegetables, including the production of marinades - cucumbers, tomatoes, assorted (tomato and cucumber), hot/sweet peppers, cabbage, carrots , onions, beets and others; the production of snacks -Vegetable caviar , pepper (lecho); production of first course dinners – rassolnik, shchi, borscht. All acquired technological equipment is domestically produced.
It is worth noting that vegetable and fruit processing volumes in the region have increased 2.7-fold compared to 2014 due to the modernization of existing facilities and the construction of new ones.
