Sowing in the Krasnoyarsk Territory is proceeding at a high pace

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture and Trade Leonid Shorokhov reported on the course of spring field work to the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Uss.
According to the agency, 844,000 hectares have been sown with spring crops, which is 63% of the plan. In particular, 599.6 thousand hectares - cereals and legumes, 164 thousand hectares - rapeseed. More than 2 thousand hectares are occupied by potatoes, 472 hectares by vegetables.
The sown area is projected at 1 million 515 thousand hectares, which is 2.7% more than last year. Agrarians of the region intend to sow more of almost all crops than in 2021.
“Similar sowing rates were observed in 2020. Spring came unusually early that year. In comparison with the previous agricultural year, the rate of spring sowing is more than twice as high. All enterprises of the region are provided with spare parts, seeds, fuel and fertilizers, so there are no risks for the sowing campaign,” said Leonid Shorokhov, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture and Trade of the region.
Farmers purchased 63.7 thousand tons of the active ingredient of mineral fertilizers, which is 14 thousand tons more than a year earlier. Agricultural machinery for sowing is completely ready. The pace of delivery of new agricultural machinery to the farms of the region is much higher than last year. Since the beginning of the year, farmers have purchased more than 500 tractors, grain and forage harvesters, seeding complexes and other equipment.
We also add that this year more than 7.5 billion rubles are allocated to support the agro-industrial complex in the federal and regional budgets. Agricultural producers have already received more than 2.5 billion rubles.
“We have entered a very responsible period, when, as they say, the day feeds the year. The situation is quite normal. In some areas, even better than expected. Under favorable weather conditions, we can count on a good result,” said Alexander Uss, Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
