Sowing campaign in North Ossetia starts in April

In the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, preparations continue for spring sowing for the 2023 harvest, which is scheduled for April.
To date, about 17 thousand hectares of winter crops have been fed, including: winter wheat - 11 thousand hectares, winter barley - 2 thousand hectares, winter rapeseed - 4 thousand hectares.
“The sowing campaign in North Ossetia will tentatively begin in mid-April when a stable soil temperature of the arable layer reaches at least +8 C,” said Deputy Minister of Agriculture of North Ossetia-Alania Igor Kadzaev.
The acquisition of seed material and mineral fertilizers is proceeding at a rapid pace, as is the preparation of agricultural machinery, which is planned to attract about 1,000 units.
In 2023, spring sowing is planned to be carried out on an area of ​​​​more than 130 thousand hectares.
