
To date, grain and leguminous crops have been sown - 97% of the planned amount, which is over 354.7 thousand hectares. The sowing of early grain crops has been completed, sowing of corn for grain is nearing completion (92% of the planned areas have already been sown). As of today, industrial crops have been sown - 84% or 460 thousand hectares, sowing of sugar beet (59.3 thousand hectares) and sunflower (172.4 thousand hectares) has been completed.
At the same time, the Belgrood farmers began harvesting fodder for hay for dairy farming. Of the total planned volume (about 50 thousand hectares) of perennial grasses, 700 hectares were mowed, which is a little more than 1% of the plan. The region confidently remains among the leaders in terms of milk production - the Belgorod region ranks 3rd in the Central Federal District (in 2022, more than 720 thousand tons of milk were produced).
Potato planting is 100% completed, onion planting is 98% complete. Potatoes are planted on an area of more than one thousand hectares, the main producing municipalities in the region are Prokhorovka and Chernyanka, the three main varieties planted by farmers are Gala, Vega and Koroleva Anna.
