Agricultural producers of Yamal started planting potatoes. About 40 hectares of land have been allocated for these purposes in the region.
Traditionally, in the first ten days of June, potatoes were planted in Salekhard. This year, on an area of 16 hectares, Yamal Potato LLC will grow a high-quality early table variety Gala. 35 tons of tubers purchased from a specialized seed farm in the Tyumen region were used for seeds.
“As such, we do not process arable land before planting. In the autumn they just plowed up, now they have cultivated and nourished with mineral fertilizer. After the emergence of seedlings, we will harvest in two months - what is needed in the conditions of the Arctic summer. We plan to get about 150 tons of potatoes this year,” said Damir Sharipov, DIRECTOR of the enterprise.
Sole proprietor Alexander Dangaev also started planting potatoes in the district capital. The land plot cultivated by the farmer is 1.5 hectares and is located in the vicinity of the city. According to preliminary calculations, the yield will be up to 20 tons of potatoes. For sowing, the Gala variety was also chosen with a ripening period of about 70-80 days.
“The parish of the diocese has been growing potatoes for more than one year to meet the needs of parishioners. We are engaged in a socially important business - we supply all the grown crops to the canteen at the Church of Peter and Paul, where low-income people and people in difficult life situations can eat, ”said Alexander Dangaev.
This year, the fields are also cultivated by KFH Borodin A.V. in the Nadymsky district, the agricultural firms "Pripolyarnaya" and "Tolkinskaya" in the Krasnoselkupsky district and the municipal agricultural enterprise "Muzhevskoye" in the Shuryshkarsky district. Farmers are provided with all the necessary resources for the successful implementation of agricultural work. By autumn, they plan to grow about 400 tons of potatoes.
“The food security of the region is ensured, among other things, by the efforts of the Yamal farmers. In addition to potatoes, agricultural producers cultivate open and protected ground vegetables. Over the past year, about 27 tons of cabbage, carrots, beets, as well as cucumbers and tomatoes were grown,” said Alexander Bykov, chief specialist of the agricultural development department of the AIC Department of the YNAO.
Every year, agricultural producers of crop products receive state support in the form of compensation for part of the costs of purchasing agricultural equipment, manufacturing and selling products.
