Half of the diplomas for the development of science in the agro-industrial complex were taken by Sverdlovsk scientists

The awarding took place on September 15 within the framework of the X Interregional Agro-Industrial Exhibition of the Ural Federal District "Agroprom Ural" at the IEC "Ekaterinburg-EXPO".

First Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Alexei Shmykov and Minister of Agro-Industrial Complex and Consumer Market of the Sverdlovsk Region Artem Bakhterev presented diplomas to the best.

“In recent years, a real modernization breakthrough has been taking place in the agro-industrial complex as a whole. From traditional farming methods to modern, high-tech, knowledge-intensive production. Largely due to this, every year the agricultural and food industry of the region increases its own production of products. Yields, MILK yields and MEAT production are increasing year by year,” A. Shmykov said in his welcoming speech.

More than 100 applications from scientific, educational and industrial organizations of the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen and Kurgan regions were received for participation in the competition "Scientific innovations and developments in the agro-industrial complex of the Ural Federal District".

Topics of scientific projects related to crop production and selection; animal husbandry and biotechnology; veterinary medicine; mechanization, digitalization and intellectualization of agriculture; processing of raw materials of plant and animal origin; economics of the agro-industrial complex.

According to the results of the conclusion of the expert commission, which included representatives of the Ministry of Agro-Industrial Complex and Consumer Market of the Sverdlovsk Region and scientists from the regions of the Ural Federal District, 64 projects were awarded diplomas of 1, 2 and 3 degrees. The authors of 30 of them are Sverdlovsk scientists from the Ural Federal Agrarian Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (UrFARC Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences), Ural State Agrarian University (UrSAU), Ural State University of Economics (UrGEU-SINH).

“2022 has been fruitful in terms of the scientific achievements of our scientists - we have won and continue to work on several large grants, we are implementing a number of key projects for the agro-industrial complex with industrial and scientific partners, we received a record harvest of grain crops as confirmation of the high appreciation of our breeding work, we included in state register of breeding achievements this year, six new varieties of fruit, berries, grain crops and potatoes, in addition, another 13 varieties are currently undergoing expert evaluation and state variety testing,” shared Nikita Nikolayevich Zezin, DIRECTOR of the Ural Federal Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, DOCTOR of Agriculture. So, a group of scientists from the Ural State Agrarian University (USAU) has developed and even patented a new way of feeding egg hens to maintain the HEALTH of the bird and increase their productivity. The diploma was also awarded to the development of Ural scientists - a fermented milk and vegetable drink based on whey to restore the body in the post-COVID period. Scientists in the field of crop production have developed a unique unit for subsoil application and efficient distribution of fertilizers with simultaneous soil cultivation and a mixer-distributor for enriching various cultivated plants with useful substances. The works of plant growers are even patented and ready for implementation.

“Research activities of the Ural State Agrarian University are focused on solving the main tasks outlined in the Federal Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of Agriculture, the Federal Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of Genetic Technologies and other key documents. In addition, university scientists participate in the implementation of more than 20 regional programs in various areas of science, contributing to the socio-economic development of the regions. The Ural scientists also proposed a new selection of vegetable crops, new technologies for the production of planting material for potatoes, resource-saving technologies for growing hemp in the conditions of the Middle Urals. Recall that in the Sverdlovsk region in 2021 they began to develop the cultivation of a new crop - industrial hemp - Governor Evgeny Kuyvashev reported on his social network. The first 15 hectares were sown in the Beloyarsky district. From hemp in the Urals, they plan to produce hemp oil, FLOUR, and protein. Meanwhile, Ural scientists have already developed recipes for semi-hard and curd cheeses with hemp. This development was also presented at the innovation competition and received a diploma.

Recall that Agroprom Ural is a large-scale exhibition and congress event with a presentation of modern engineering solutions and agricultural machinery, materials and equipment for animal husbandry and crop production, food products. The X Interregional Agro-Industrial Exhibition of the Ural Federal District was held on September 13-15 at the IEC "Ekaterinburg-EXPO" with the participation of leading scientific and agricultural enterprises of the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Kurgan regions, KhMAO, YNAO. As part of the business program, more than 20 events were held: round tables, meetings, conferences, the competition of professional skills in driving a tractor "Tractor Show" and others.
