The number of horses in Transbaikalia exceeded 100 thousand heads

The number of horses in the Trans-Baikal Territory increased by 3 thousand heads over the year, said the Minister of Agriculture of the region Denis Bochkarev.
“Transbaikalia is one of the leaders among the subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District in herd horse breeding. Over the past year, the number of horses in the region has increased by 3 thousand - up to 102.6 thousand heads,” said the HEAD of the agrarian department.
He noted that measures of state support contribute to the increase in livestock. Thus, the breeding farms of the region annually receive subsidies for herd horse breeding. In total, today in the Trans-Baikal Territory, two breeding plants, five breeding reproducers and two gene pool farms operate in this area.
