The Moscow region is among the leaders in the production of seed potatoes in the Central Federal District and the Russian Federation

In the region, more than 60 thousand tons of seed potatoes are produced annually in 14 farms in the region.
“Currently, preparation of seed potatoes for spring sowing in 2024 has begun . Seeds from the Moscow region are sold not only in our region. The geography of supplies is from Kaliningrad to the Far East. In 2023, 6% more seed potatoes of domestic selection were planted than in 2022,” said the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region -Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region Vladislav Murashov.
The leading varieties of domestic selection were: Prime, Flamingo, Carmen, Varyag, Sadon. Among the varieties of foreign selection - Gala.
“Doka-Gene Technologies”, JSC “Ozery” and Farming Holding “SeDeK” are taking part in replenishing the state register of achievements of domestic selection. Thus, in 2023, 6 new varieties of these companies were registered in the register.
