The winner of the 25th sheep and goat exhibition was recognized as the SPK "Dzhurmut-1" from Dagestan

From May 15 to 17, 2025, the 25th anniversary Russian exhibition of breeding sheep and goats was held in Kaspiysk, which became a real holiday for livestock professionals and connoisseurs of rural traditions.
The event was held at the Anzhi Arena stadium. 65 breeding farms from various regions of RUSSIA, including 24 Dagestan enterprises, took part in the exhibition. The exhibition animals were placed in a tent with an area of 1.6 thousand square meters. An agricultural fair, a demonstration of folk arts and crafts and a brood of Akhal-Teke horses were also organized. Vocal and choreographic groups performed at regional farmsteads.
The business program of the exhibition consisted of round tables, meetings and seminars on the development of sheep breeding, the prospects for the use of pasture lands in drought conditions, and scientific support for the industry.
During the exhibition, it was visited by the HEAD of Dagestan Sergey Melikov, Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia Maxim Borovoy, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan Nariman Abdulmutalibov, Acting Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan Zurab Kuchchayev, DIRECTOR of the Department of Animal Husbandry of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia Sergey Voskresensky, President of the National Union of Sheep Breeders Kharon Amerkhanov and other persons.
During the event, SPK Tavolzhan from the Tyumen Region and OOO Elbrus Organic from Kabardino-Balkaria signed an agreement on the supply of Dorper sheep for 1.5 billion rubles.
The guests were able to see unique specimens of small cattle: edilbai weighing up to 200 kilograms, Gissars, Tsvartbles, Charolais, Katum rams and even Arashans, one of which was sold right there at the exhibition for one and a half million rubles.
National farmsteads operated on the stadium grounds, representing the cultural traditions of not only Dagestan, but also neighboring regions - Stavropol Krai, Karachay-Cherkessia, Adygea.
The guests were entertained with songs, dances, tightrope walkers performed in front of the main stage. They were treated to pilaf. About 3 thousand portions were prepared in three days. Fragrant mountain tea, honey, cheese andIce cream made with sheep's MILK .
As a souvenir, one could buy products of Dagestani folk crafts: Kubachi silver, Andean burkas and papakhas, Tabasaran carpets. The attendance of the exhibition has more than tripled
compared to 2023 and 2024.
About 50 thousand people visited the event over three days. At the exhibition, 15 independent experts from all over Russia, headed by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yusupzhan Yuldashbaev, carried out contact work with animals to determine the winner. They awarded the 1st degree diploma to the SPK "Dzhurmut-1" from the Tlyaratinsky district of Dagestan. The farm was awarded the main prize of the exhibition - a Lada Niva Travel car.
The Volgograd-Edilbay LLC from the Volgograd Region and the Kirovsky breeding farm from Kalmykia received the 2nd degree diplomas, the Katumy SPK from the Leningrad Region , the Romashkovsky breeding farm from the Volgograd Region and the Chokh agrofirm from the Gunibsky District of Dagestan received the 3rd degree diplomas. Also, the senior shepherd of the Plemzavod Vtoraya Pyatiletka SPK Vasily Serikov received a special prize from the Head of Dagestan - a Lada Niva Travel car.
As part of the closing ceremony, a lottery was also held, in which eight leading livestock farms of Dagestan raffled off 15 rams among visitors.
