Farming culture around the world is undergoing significant changes. The agricultural revolution is already underway around the world, especially accelerated during the covid 19 epidemic, when the importance of HEALTH and sustainability factors became obvious to everyone. RUSSIA , unfortunately, is far behind.
All over the world, biological protection and nutrition products are outpacing chemical pesticides and fertilizers in terms of market growth. Due to problems with resistance of diseases and pests to the active ingredients of chemical pesticides, over the past 50 years, biological plant protection products, which do not have such problems, have significantly overtaken chemistry in the number of new products brought to market.
Unlike chemical pesticides and fertilizers that are toxic to the soil, humans and the environment, these natural alternatives use the forces of biology and nature (entomophages, microbiology, bacteria and fungi, plant matter, natural minerals and organic fertilizers, peat, sapropel, algae , etc. ) to protect and nourish crops and ensure a healthier future by ensuring sustainable farming practices and minimizing our environmental footprint. In addition, biorational means of protection and nutrition have a number of agronomic advantages and long-term positive effects, which we will talk about at the marathon. The global market for biological crop protection (biopesticides) is estimated at US
$13 billion in 2022 (more than 10% of the global crop protection market) and is expected to reach US$27.9 million by 2028, with a CAGR of will be 10.9% during 2024-2028 (for chemical pesticides, an increase of only about 5% is predicted). Global transnational corporations are exponentially increasing their share of biological control products. In developed countries, 18–20% of agricultural producers either use biological products in large quantities or are testing them with the intention of increasing their use. At the same time, their main motive is to increase productivity and reduce overall production costs. 46–62% of them indicate a high level of satisfaction with these products.


Russia successfully competes in the field of bioprotection and nutrition in terms of the level of scientific support, high production technologies, the volume of supply for agricultural producers, raw material potential, and is very much, more than five times, behind global trends in terms of application volume. Despite the great potential, biological protection and nutrition products are used on only 2% of agricultural land. This is due to the long-term lobby of agrochemical companies, most of which, already having biorational products, sell them on the markets of other countries, and in Russia they continue to promote chemistry, undermining the health of the Russian population, reducing the fertility and quality of agricultural land, worsening the environment, thereby playing the role of a quiet saboteur.
At the online marathon of the Union of Organic Farming, non-stop, specialists from more than 40 agrobiotech companies will tell and answer practical questions on how to reduce costs for plant protection and nutrition by 5-30% in production conditions from the very first year, while maintaining profitability. by replacing expensive chemical pesticides and fertilizers with biological ones, increase yield/productivity by 10-40%, increase soil fertility and suppressiveness, plant/animal immunity , reduce climatic stress and soil compaction, obtain healthier and higher quality products. The effects of application have been scientifically and practically proven. Among the marathon speakers, 13 companies have their own laboratories, 11 companies provide agricultural support services or have agronomists on staff who will help at the initial stage of implementation. 28 companies have confirmation of use in organic farming, which proves their high environmental status. Industry leaders have been working in the Russian and international markets for more than 40 years.

The list has been published since 2018 and is updated annually. In the new edition of the 2024 List (updated by more than 40%), the information is systematized, products with confirmation for use in organic agriculture are noted - biological products, biofertilizers, probiotics, feed additives, seeds, entomophages.
