As of October 1 of this year, beets were harvested from 34 thousand hectares. The gross harvest amounted to 1 million 117 thousand tons.
Cleaning is carried out in 15 districts. The best in terms of SUGAR beet yield is the Dobrinsky district. There it amounted to 398.8 q/ha. It is followed by Stanovlyansky (396.2 c/ha) and Yelets (377 c/ha) districts. In 2021, the area under beets in the region increased by almost 13%. In total, almost 110 thousand tons of hectares are to be harvested.
“For the Lipetsk region, sugar beet is a strategic crop. Our beet growers have managed to reach the European level in the cultivation and processing of this crop, and the most modern scientific developments are applied in the fields,” said Igor Artamonov, HEAD of the Lipetsk region.
All 6 sugar factories in the region are processing beets of the new crop. They have produced 158 thousand tons of sugar at the moment. Also, more than 15 thousand cubic meters of syrup were put into storage for further processing.
